Roscoe Bryan Terry Sr., 88, lifelong resident of Granite City, Ill., and Hardin, Ill., born June 6, 1925, in St. Louis, Mo., passed away Monday, April 28, 2014, at his daughter's home in Connelly Spring, N.C.

Mr. Terry was born an identical twin. He was a decorated World War II veteran, earning the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star during the Battle of the Bulge. He was employed in civil service at Scott Air Force Base, and retired in 1975.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene, nee Riley, Terry; a son, Dennis Ray Terry; a daughter, Shelia Raye Seemes; parents, Alex and Edna Mae, nee Sharrar, Terry; and brothers, Russell (his identical twin brother), Roe Sr., and Frances Terry.

Surviving are four sons, Gary Lee, Jody L., Roscoe Jr., and Russell Terry; four daughters, Patsy (Bill) Wright of Bowling Green, Mo., Penny (Bob) Chehar of St. Charles, Mo., Debbie Martin of Mount Vernon, Ill., and Trudy (Robert) Bradshaw of Connelly Springs, N.C.; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; sister, Irene Hudson; and four nieces and a nephew.

Visitation: Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Saksa Mateer Funeral Home, Edwardsville, Ill.

Funeral: A private graveside service will be held at Sunset Hills, Edwardsville, Ill.
