Richard Charles Perry

Richard Charles Perry, age 84, of Glen Carbon, died at 6:35 a.m. Sunday, May 4, 2014, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.

He was born Oct. 21, 1929, in Glen Carbon, the son of the late Henry and Anna Kellerman Perry.
He married Rosemary Mateyka on Sept. 5, 1953, St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Glen Carbon. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons: Donald (Kim) Perry, Mark (Teri) Perry and Brian (Tammy) Perry all of Edwardsville; grandchildren: Amy Perry, Toni Crunk, Andrea Speiser, Collin Perry, Kari Perry, Brianna Perry, Blake Perry, Andrea Pohlmann and Jeremy Garner; great-grandchildren: Christopher Crunk, Hunter Crunk and Allison Speiser, Leo and Ben Garner and Oliver Pohlmann; two sisters: Rena Leopold of Edwardsville and Imelda (Jim) Foster of Tennessee and one sister-in-law: Pat Perry of Glen Carbon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Henry Perry and Robert Perry.
Mr. Perry served in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1951 to 1953. He was a machine operator for Wagner Electric for 33 years, retiring in 1992.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, at Saksa Mateer Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 8, at St. Cecelia Catholic Church with Fr. Daniel Bergbauer officiating.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Glen Carbon.
Memorials are suggested to masses at St. Cecelia's Catholic Church.
