Harry W. "Harryo" Fletcher

Harry W. "Harryo" Fletcher, 69, of Pontoon Beach, IL, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018. He was born on May 18, 1948, to Carl and Wilma, nee Hiles, Fletcher, in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Harry was a retired decorated U.S. Army Veteran, Vietnam Era; 173d Airborne, Bronze Star, and Parachute badge. He was the Train Operator for 43 years at Granite City Steel, retired in 2013. He also belonged to Mt. Zion General Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his son, Timothy Brim.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret L. White Fletcher, whom he married on September 20, 1987, in Pontoon Beach, IL; children, Angela (John) Anderson of Pocahontas, IL, Tina Thurman of Rushville, IL, Gerald Brim of Granite City, Donnie (Rhonda) Fletcher of Rushville, IL, and Richard Fletcher of Chaffee, MO; sister, Carol Ann Fletcher of Granite City, IL; as well as 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Visitation from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at Thomas Saksa Funeral Home, Granite City, IL.

Services: Funeral at 10 a.m., Tuesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Steven Gray officiating. Burial in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
