Gail Ellen Eaker

Gail Ellen Eaker, 63 of Granite City, passed away July 23, 2019, approximately 9:15pm, at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City. She was the daughter of Lester (Smokey) Spray and Juanita Ryan Buckingham born on November 25, 1955 at Granite City, Illinois.

Smokey proceeds her in death.

She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Gary D. Eaker from Granite City. 

Children: Christa (Alan) Willaredt of Granite City, Jerin (Becky) Holder of Winfield MO, Greg (Jen) Holder of O’Fallon MO, Sarah Mossa of Collinsville, and Jessica Chepely of Granite City. 

Grandchildren: Karen, Rachel, Katelyn, Megan, Evan, Mia, Hannah, Oliver, Savannah, Natalia, Jayden, and Serena. 

Siblings: Sheree (Tim) White of Granite City, Sheila Buckingham of Granite City, Lori (Rob) Bush of Highland, and Leslie (Mike) McElroy of Granite City, Gary (Debbie) Spray of Granite City, Rick (Denni) Buckingham of Granite City, Keith Buckingham of Granite City, and Rex (Joanie) Buckingham of Edwardsville.

Also surviving: her stepmother, Juanita Spray of East Alton and her mother-in-law Patsy Howton of Granite City. 

Preceding in death by an infant sister Waynette Spray and stepfather Rex Buckingham. 

Memorial contributions can be made to Heritage General Baptist Church where Mrs. Eaker was a long time member and Sunday school teacher. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 30, 2019 from 2pm-5pm at Heritage General Baptist Church, 3716 Ruth Dr. in Granite City. A memorial service begin at 5pm at the church officiated by Pastor Greg Dickerman.
